COSMETIC DERMATOLOGY SERVICES

ACNE BLUE LIGHT (OMNILUX)
The newest technology for treating acne that does not use ultraviolet light.
Treatments are done in a series, and are very effective on stubborn acne. Pure
blue light creates a toxic environment that kills bacteria causing acne. The
treatment takes 20 minutes, 2 times a week for 4 weeks with no side effects.
One touch up treatment is required every 3 months.
BOTOX
A FDA approved injection used to smooth facial lines on the forehead and crows
feet around the eyes. The treatment takes approximately 10-15 minutes with
minimal down time. Each area requires 25 units. Areas treated are, crow’s feet,
glabellas and forehead. Treatment should be coordinated with the nurse and lasts
for about 3 months.
CHEMICAL PEELS
Serious anti-aging benefits, targeted results. Chemical peels
can remove fine wrinkles, age spots and help with acne scarring. Treatment
takes approximately 15 minutes. Depending on strength of peel and type of peel,
Jessner or TCA, (Trichoracetic Acid), expect redness and peeling for 5 days.
COLLAGEN
The treatment requires allergy testing of two sites at $50 per test. If the
test results are negative, Zyderm or Zyplast is used to fill in lines around the
lip area. Treatment takes about 20 minutes and last 3-4 months.
IRIDERM LASER
Excellent treatment for eliminating “age spots, liver spots, solar lentigo and
repairing broken capillaries. The treatment is minimally invasive, and takes
approximately 20 minutes. Expect redness and slight swelling for 2-3 days.
LASER HAIR REMOVAL
“Lightsheer ET” laser to remove unwanted hair from almost any part of the body.
Multiple treatment session are needed to permanently remove hair. Treatment
takes approximately 10-15 minutes, works best with brown or black hair and may
require 3 to 7 treatments.
RADIANCE
Safe and effective facial tissue filler, used primarily to fill in “smile-lines”
in the marionette area of the face. Results may last from 3-5 years as
compared to collagen which generally lasts 3-4 months. The treatment takes
approximately 20 minutes and involves numbing cream used at home for 1 hour
prior to the appointment time. The numbing cream is called LMX 4 (Elamax) and
can be purchased at Walgreens for a cost of $40-$60. If samples are available,
we can provide the cream for them. Sometimes additional cream or injections are
required at the office. There is minimal down time.
RESTYLANE
Recently approved by the FDA, this cosmetic filler is quickly gaining popularity
for many reasons...it is completely natural, can erase fine lines and wrinkles
around the lip area immediately, and with long lasting results. It involves
numbing cream used at home 1 hour prior to the appointment time. The numbing
cream is called LMX 4 (Elamax) and can be purchased at Walgreens for a cost of
$40-$60. The treatment takes approximately 20 minutes and last for 6 to 12
months
SCLEROTHERAPY
A detergent solution is injected into small leg veins known as spider veins.
The treatment can take from 15 to 30 minutes depending on how many and if both
legs are treated. Must wear support hose for 2 days and no leg exercises for
1-2 weeks
